Welcome to the Dromore Cathedral website, which we hope it will give you an insight into how we worship in Dromore. If you live close enough, you might even want to come and join us at one of the 4 regular services we have each Sunday and at our occasional 8pm Praise service. We are constantly developing our various ministries and have room on the many teams if you want to become involved.
The site is designed to deliver you news and information from Dromore Cathedral. You can read all about the Cathedral here.

Due to a technical hitch of my own making (I forgot my password) I have been unable to contribute to the website for some months. As you will see below this has been remedied (Thanks, Dave) and I am up and running again. Please visit us regularly. If you would like to contribute to the site, [either a blog, or adverts for your group, or other reason] send Dave an email for details of how to get a password (or remember your old one!). We will see what we can do… no promises!

The local branch of Mothers’ Union will be holding their Opening Service on Sunday 13th September 2009 at 6pm. The speaker will be Mrs Lynn McFarland, former Branch Leader and Diocesan Reader-in-training.
This year the branch will be celebrating their 80th Anniversary. We look forward to refreshments being served after the service in the Clayton Hall for everyone present.

Our Autumn Fair takes place this year on Saturday 19th September at 10.30 am.
We ask contributors to focus on cakes, crafts, gifts, bric-a-brac, food stuffs, plants, vegetables, toys, books, videos etc as they discover things to give this year. Perhaps you have some novelty item which would raise some cash!
This year’s event includes a CAR WASH, FACE PAINTING and a FIRESIDE QUIZ, all of which have proved popular of late. There will be refreshments thoughout the event and items may be left at the hall for valuation and display from 6.30 pm on Friday. Offers of help to Brian Mackey, please.
Following on the recent successes of other fund raising events, we no longer require items for auction at this event, nor any handbags, clothing, shoes or household textiles.
See you on the 20th!
The newly rebuilt Cathedral Organ is due to be dedicated on Sunday 20th September 2009 at 6.00 pm. We look forward to members of the parish, the diocese and further afield attending this inspiring event. Our Bishop, The Rt Rev Harold Miller hopes to be present to dedicate the instrument.
The Organ has been redesigned, extended and rebuilt by Mr Trevor Crowe and the experts in the field which he has drawn together from these islands. Mr Theo Saunders, Organist and Master of Scholars at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh, will accompany the service and give a recital. The Cathedral Choir will sing a setting of evensong fit for the occasion.
Light Refreshments will be served after the service, in anticipation of a further significant diocesan event beginning at 8.15 pm. Forty days of Prayer, entitled 24-40, begins in the cathedral and its prayer room at this time, and will continue, going around some twelve or more venues in the diocese before ending at Down Cathedral on Saturday 31st October with a closing celebration. Further details of the event may be found at www.24-40prayer.org
Prayer Study 1 Following week 1 of the September series on Prayer, fellowship group leaders are asked to download this study. Those who do not attend a group may like to reflect on it by themselves. To join one of the three groups contact Stephen on the church email address.
On Friday September 25th 2009 from 10.30 to 12.00 we will be hosting a coffee morning for the work of Macmillan Cancer Care at the Clayton Hall. With scones teas and coffee available, and perhaps a few extra treats, this is a great way to support a useful and worthy cause. Jeanette Adair is once more co-ordinating the team and we hope tp see old and new faces back to help and support the event. Please come and enjoy yourself: why not arrange to meet a few friends there too! Contact the office for details. For details of the work of Macmillan Nurses visit www.macmillan.org.uk
