Keeping order: how to maximise usefulness of our site

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Welcome fellow non specialist users. Yes, David knows how all this works, we, mere mortals, only know that it works!

What to use the site for: sharing information and comments about the cathedral which will stimulate interest and support for the work of the church. Remember to avoid overly critical comments which might malign well meaning efforts by fellow volunteers. Keep the church community up to date on changes to published events, remembering to email the office for publication on the weekly news sheet as well.

The Mission of the Church of Ireland

Monday, June 4th, 2007

Recently the bishops of the Church of Ireland produced a mission statement for the church:

The Church of Ireland, an authentic part of the universal church of God, is called to develop growing communities of faith, in and through which the kingdom of God is made known, and in which the whole people serve together s followers of Jesus Christ for the good of the world.

GROWTH - UNITY - SERVICE

Hopefully this will help our parish reflect on and rediscover our mission in Dromore.

Celebrate at Ten

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

Celebrate at Ten or CIAO, as it is affectionately known, is a specially designed alternative to the more traditional services usually associated with the Church of Ireland. We aim to create an environment that is fun, relaxed, fast moving, challenging and that appeals to all ages.

The service incorporates contemporary worship music and the occasional traditional hymn, puppet drama, intercessory prayer and prayer ministry, teaching and any other thing that we feel might get across the message that God loves people and that church can be both fun and relevant to our 21 Century world.

If you like your services interactive, unconventional, unpredictable or just plain random then Ciao might just be the right fit for you. You will be made very welcome!

Where? The Cathedral
When? Sunday 10am Weekly
Who? All ages, especially families with children as the Children’s Sunday Programme (DC Rock) meets during the service

New Website Launch

Friday, June 1st, 2007

Today, the 1st of June 2007 the new Dromore Cathedral website has been officially launched. I’d like to welcome you to the site and to become involved: we need a few volunteers to write occasionally and keep the site up to date from various organisations within the Parish; you can also comment or respond to messages posted on the site by registering (for free; all registrations are subject to admin approval).

You should find the site easy to use and the layout manageable, and I hope to improve this in the near future there will be a few adjustments made to enhance your experience further.

Thanks and God bless
