The Cathedral is once more delighted to host a carol service for the community at 6.30pm on Sunday 15th December. At last year’s service there was literally standing room only, so we are hoping for a similar level of support this year as we continue to support the vital work of The Southern Area Hospice, Newry.
Once more, we will have a choir consisting of children and young people from Dromore Central Primary School, St Colman’s Primary School and Dromore High School, led and accompanied by our own Children’s Worker, Mrs Christine Shanks.
Also, we can expect to be blessed by our new singing group SOMA who are quite literally growing from strength to strength. SOMA have only been in existence since October 2018 but already have over 40 members and they will be singing a couple of seasonal pieces on the evening.
And finally, we will have a representative from The Southern Area Hospice to speak on the work of the Hospice and the increasing need for the support of the general public.
Please do make this evening something of a priority to attend and do see it as an opportunity to bring along someone who may be on the fringes of church life to what we trust will be a great blessing to us all.
