Nativity Service

Our annual Nativity Service will be at 10.45am on Sunday 17th December. The Nativity Service is one of those occasions where we come together and share in worship, as there is only one main service that morning.  It is also an occasion when our hearts are warmed by the charm and innocence of the children as they tell for us, in their own inimitable fashion, the glorious story of the birth of Jesus.  Everyone is encouraged to support the children and their leaders, as they lead us in worship once more.

Service of 9 Lessons and Carols

Our annual service of 9 Lessons and Carols will take place at 6pm on Sunday 17th December.  This service is a poignant reminder of the story of the creation, fall and rescue of humanity. The Cathedral is always beautifully decorated and the service is candle lit which all adds to the occasion and heightens our awareness of God’s presence as we are surrounded by candles shining in the midst of darkness.  This service is one of those occasions when we can bring a friend along and encourage them to stay for refreshments immediately after the service.  Everyone is warmly invited to attend.

Christingle Service

Our Christingle Service is being held at 6.30pm on Sunday 10th December in the Cathedral Hall and is organised by the girls and leaders from the Girls’ Brigade.

The girls are being encouraged to bring along a gift with a value of no more than £10. These gifts will be given to Via Wings for distribution to those in particular need at Christmas time.

Cathedral Open

The Cathedral will be open daily Monday to Friday during December (up to Friday 22nd) from 11.00am to 1.00pm.  We welcome anyone in the community, local or a visitor, to our historical building. Can you help by being a friendly face in the Cathedral in any time slot during December?  If so, please sign the rota which is in the Tower Porch or contact the Cathedral Office.
