Congratulations NIE: a job well done!

Overnight Saturday/Sunday 17th and 18th January 2009, a series of short sudden storms affected Northern Ireland in general and Dromore in particular. Sharp gusts of winds must have damaged several trees in the area, or caused other structural damage as the electricity supply to the town of Dromore was interrupted in the evening and into the small hours.

It appeared that the supply was completely cut off around 1 am, and half an hour later (or so) some supply returned. While the Cathedral and Halls were still cut off until 8 am, and so the heating of the church was limited, we deeply appreciate the work of NIE in trying to get us all back into service as quickly as possible.

Often your work is anonymous, NIE guys, and so it was in this case, but please feel appreciated  by those of us who spent the night warmly wrapped up in darkened homes while you toiled outside in the cold and dark to find and remedy faults in the system. Well done! SL
