The Cathedral Choir has been preparing for their role in this years Carols by Candlelight. Without an organ this year to use as the usual accompaniment for their pieces, a careful selection of suitable choral works has been drawn up. The service revolves around the Nine Lessons and Carols which have been traditionally read at such Carol Services since Bishop Benson of Truro Cathedral first developed a similar pattern. The current service pattern dates back to 1918.
Refreshments will be served aftewards. The service is lit by candles except where the congregation need to see the words of hymns for singing. The Service begins at 6.00 pm in Dromore Cathedral.
